On Sunday, Dodgers pitcher Alex Beshear shared on Instagram that he received a heartfelt gift from the Rams after the heartbreaking loss of his baby daughter.
The Rams crafted and signed a custom jersey for Beshear’s family in memory of their daughter, Sterling, who passed away in late October.
The jersey featured the number 1 and the name “S. Vesia,” and several notable players from Los Angeles signed it, including Matthew Stafford and Koby Turner.
In a heartfelt post, Beshear expressed his gratitude towards the team and offered words of encouragement as the Rams prepared for their upcoming NFC Championship Game against the Seahawks in Seattle.
He said, “Thank you @rams for your love and kindness,” adding a supportive note: “Everyone, do your best and bring it home!”
Beshear and his wife, Kayla, had shared earlier on social media that their daughter passed away on October 26, just days after the Dodgers and Blue Jays began the World Series. They wrote at the time, “There are no words to describe the pain we are experiencing, but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every moment we spent with her.”
Due to this personal tragedy, Beshear was removed from the Dodgers’ World Series roster.
Recently, the couple honored their daughter by sharing a joyful photo of themselves together, capturing a moment in front of a sunset, captioned, “Sterling’s mom and dad 🩷.”
