A video featuring one of America’s beloved sports dads kissing his sleeping daughters late at night has taken the internet by storm.
Kelly Stafford, Matthew’s wife, posted home security footage on Instagram at 2:30 a.m. Monday. It shows the All-Pro quarterback gently entering the bedrooms of their four daughters, presumably giving them a tender goodnight kiss after their NFC Championship game lost just hours earlier.
Stafford’s Los Angeles Rams faced a tough defeat against Seattle, losing 31-27, despite his impressive performance with 374 passing yards and three touchdowns, managing to avoid any interceptions. A win would have put the Rams in the Super Bowl.
In her post, Kelly wrote, “At 2:30 a.m. on the field, dropping everything and coming up short, this was Matthew.” The heartfelt video quickly gained traction across social media.
The reaction was overwhelmingly positive. Even Pastor Jack Graham from Texas shared his thoughts on Twitter, stating, “Winning at home is what matters most.”
This isn’t the first time the Stafford family has captured public attention. Matthew often shares pregame hugs and encouragement with his daughters, a sweet tradition that has become a familiar sight during Rams games. They’re even spotted in matching outfits at times, which is adorable—two of the four girls are twins, after all.
Matthew’s commitment to his family shines through. He has often mentioned how family is a priority for him, stating, “Honestly, it’s the best part of my life,” reflecting on the transformative experience of fatherhood. “You never know what that feeling is until you have kids. And, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience it four times. Four beautiful little girls,” he added, expressing gratitude for his life.
