Burger Brawl in Georgia Leads to Arrests
A chaotic situation erupted at a Burger King in Georgia, resulting in multiple police units being dispatched and five employees being taken into custody. Some of these workers were even found wearing what appeared to be unexploded bombs while on duty.
The incident unfolded at the Augusta location last Thursday when two staff members arrived late. Tensions flared, and soon reports of shots fired reached the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, as noted by the Augusta Press.
According to an official announcement, officers responded to claims of a large fight and firearm involvement at the fast food restaurant, situated at 3407 Deansbridge Road.
The sheriff’s office later clarified, “There were no shots fired, but multiple employees were fighting when they arrived.” It was reported that one staff member had a gun aimed at another. All those involved were arrested and transported to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center, with more charges expected.
When law enforcement arrived, the disturbance was still ongoing, with one employee allegedly pointing a gun at the officers. However, none of the individuals could be charged with gun-related offenses since, as it turns out, no firearms were found and the surveillance footage didn’t capture the whole scene.
The five employees who faced charges for disorderly conduct were identified as Malcolm Collier, 19, Devin Lewis, 17, Octavion Collier, 19, Kyla Davis, 18, and Anaja Kelly, 20. Following the incident, all five were terminated from their positions at the restaurant.
Burger King released a statement emphasizing that the behavior displayed was unacceptable and did not align with the experience they aim to provide customers. The day after the brawl, a “Now Hiring” sign was spotted in the window, hinting at the quick turn of events for the fast-food chain.
