Costco bakery offers butter croissants and other great bargains for shoppers

Costco’s offerings often extend beyond what many shoppers expect, particularly in its bakery section.

Jacquelyne Devine, a content creator from Pennsylvania who goes by @costcojacque, has dedicated considerable time to exploring Costco’s products. While many flock to the rotisserie chickens and bulk pantry staples, she notes that the bakery might actually be the best place for value.

1. Discover bakery deals.

Devine highlights that Costco’s bakery boasts low prices that are hard to find elsewhere. For instance, a Kirkland Signature 2-Pack Baguette is priced at $5.99, and the 12-count Kirkland Signature Butter Croissant usually retails for $5.99 to $7.99. Last fall, a seasonal giant pumpkin pie was available for just $5.99.

“Pie is a must-have in our home,” she reveals. “I purchase it for every holiday gathering. My family is always taken aback by its deliciousness.”

Devine describes the filling of the pumpkin pie as “smooth and delicious,” insisting it’s a steal given its quality and size.

2. Meal prep and freeze extras.

Buying in bulk isn’t just a money-saving strategy; it’s also a way to enjoy your favorite foods longer. Devine often uses Costco’s rotisserie chicken to whip up chicken salad sandwiches, which she describes as “an easy and affordable meal.” She emphasizes, “I freeze anything I don’t eat right away.”

Her favorite? The croissants. When she takes one from the freezer, she microwaves it for about 45 to 60 seconds, which works well for muffins too, extending their shelf life.

3. Sheet cakes for celebrations.

As a mother of three, Devine swears by Costco’s sheet cakes. “You can place a custom order or select from ready-made options,” she explains, calling the cake “really delicious.”

4. Don’t shy away from “luxury” items.

Devine recommends trying out the raspberry lemon muffins, noting that breaking them in half makes them last longer. She also likes the six-count blueberry caramelized cheesecake croissant, which, while pricier, is “luxurious and delicious.”

She encourages others not to feel intimidated by buying in larger quantities. “By freezing, planning accordingly, and understanding what works best, you can really get both value and quality from the bakery,” she shares.

However, it’s important to remember that not all items are guaranteed to impress. “Even a popular store like Costco can’t hit the mark with everything,” she concludes.
