Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame Exclusion Raises Eyebrows
The NFL community was taken aback this week by the news that Bill Belichick was not selected for the Pro Football Hall of Fame on his first ballot.
As of now, Belichick hasn’t publicly addressed the situation, but his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, is reportedly planning to issue a statement in August when the Class of 2026 is officially honored in Canton, Ohio.
A source mentioned that Jordon is organizing a significant celebration for Belichick on the same day as the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. It seems celebrities, including Belichick’s strong supporters who have voiced their discontent over this oversight, are expected to attend. Surprised names like Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Patrick Mahomes, LeBron James, and Jimmie Johnson have all expressed their shock regarding this development.
Interestingly, those who had planned to attend the induction ceremony, such as Tom Brady, Jimmie Johnson, and Bill Parcells, have received invites to the celebration orchestrated by Jordon.
Reports indicate that Belichick missed the first-round honor by just one vote. Voters were faced with a choice that included Belichick, Ken Anderson, Roger Craig, LC Greenwood, and Robert Kraft.
Rob Gronkowski shared his thoughts on the situation while speaking with media, saying: “It’s very stupid that he wasn’t selected as a first-ballot Hall of Famer. It’s completely irrational. The guy has eight rings, the second most wins of all time, and the most playoff victories.”
Gronkowski continued, emphasizing Belichick’s impact on the football community. “This player has an impressive resume and has positively influenced countless lives in the football world. From players to coaches, he’s given so many people the chance to succeed. It’s just unbelievable he wasn’t included. Of course, he will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame eventually, but it’s ridiculous he wasn’t on the first ballot.”
The official announcement regarding the class will be made on Thursday.
