Kelly Clarkson to End Daytime Talk Show After Seven Seasons
Kelly Clarkson has announced that her daytime talk show will conclude after its seventh season. She shared this news in a post on Instagram on February 2, expressing her appreciation for everyone involved in the show.
“I feel very fortunate to have worked with such an amazing group of people on The Kelly Clarkson Show in Los Angeles and New York,” she said. Reflecting on the seven seasons, she mentioned the numerous memorable moments and episodes.
Clarkson also expressed gratitude towards her talented band and crew, as well as the guests who shared their stories with the audience. Most importantly, she thanked the fans who supported the show, recognizing NBC for being a great partner throughout the journey.
“Deciding to end the show wasn’t easy, but this will be my last season as host,” she noted. Clarkson emphasized the importance of taking a break to focus on her children, River Rose and Remington, who are 11 and 9, respectively. This, she believes, is the right step for this next phase of their lives.
Clarkson shares her kids with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, whom she was married to from 2013 until their divorce in 2020. Blackstock, sadly, passed away in August 2025 at the age of 48 after a battle with melanoma.
Despite leaving the talk show, Clarkson reassured her fans that this isn’t really goodbye. She mentioned plans to continue making music, performing, and possibly appearing on ‘The Voice’ in the future. “You never know where I’ll show up next,” she remarked. She expressed heartfelt thanks to her audience for making the show a part of their lives over the past seven years.
The announcement garnered support from fans and celebrities alike, with many expressing their love and best wishes in the comments. One fan wrote, “We love you ❤️ All the best for you and your family.” Singer Carnie Wilson also sent her love, mentioning a desire to perform together again.
Throughout her tenure on the show, Clarkson won an impressive 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including honors for Best Daytime Talk Series and Best Talk Show Host, making her mark in daytime television.
