New Allegations Against Prince Andrew Linked to Jeffrey Epstein
British authorities have stated they are “reviewing information” following new claims that Jeffrey Epstein facilitated sexual encounters between himself and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in 2010.
Thames Valley Police confirmed they had received reports a woman in her twenties was sent to Windsor’s Royal Lodge by Epstein to engage with the then-Prince Andrew. These allegations gained attention this week after the release of over three million emails related to Epstein in the United States. The woman claimed she “spent the night” with Andrew at the Windsor residence and described being shown around Buckingham Palace the following day.
This seems to be the first instance where sexual activities connected to Epstein are said to have occurred on royal property.
The accusations were put forth by the US law firm Edwards Henderson, representing Epstein’s victims. However, it appears that the police report wasn’t initiated by the anonymous complainant or the firm itself, but originated with Thames Valley Police.
The recently released emails reportedly feature an image of Andrew in a compromising position, along with discussions touching on women.
Mountbatten-Windsor has distanced himself from public life and renounced his royal title amidst claims regarding his relationship with Epstein and supposed encounters with Epstein’s victim, Virginia Giuffre. So far, these accusations have not been validated in court, and as noted, he has consistently denied any allegations of wrongdoing.
In a statement, Thames Valley Police remarked:
“We are aware of reports of a woman allegedly taken to an address in Windsor for sexual purposes in 2010. We adhere to established procedures to evaluate information.”
“All reports of sexual offenses are taken seriously, and we encourage anyone with information to step forward. To this point, neither the solicitor nor the client has reported these allegations to us.”
Currently, the police assessment is determining whether the report holds enough merit to pursue a comprehensive investigation. This process differentiates the claims against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from those surrounding Peter Mandelson, a former government minister. Recently, the police confirmed they are looking into allegations that Mandelson accepted funds from Epstein and shared confidential UK government information with US financiers, which quickly escalated to a full investigation.
The Metropolitan Police announced, “The Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed that it has begun an investigation into a 72-year-old man, a former government minister, on suspicion of committing a crime in office.”
Downing Street expressed its support for this investigation.
As fresh allegations regarding sexual misconduct involving Mountbatten-Windsor emerged, he vacated the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where the alleged incident took place in 2010. The former prince had already been planning to leave his prominent residence near London for a quieter life in rural Norfolk, although his departure occurred several months sooner than anticipated.
