Bill Gates admits it was a 'mistake' to have associated with Jeffrey Epstein

Bill Gates Reflects on His Time with Jeffrey Epstein

In a recent interview with 9News Australia, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates expressed regret over his past association with Jeffrey Epstein, labeling it a “stupid” decision to spend time with him.

Gates recounted meeting Epstein in 2011 and remarked, “I had many dinners with him over three years. He claimed he could connect me with wealthy individuals to aid World Health initiatives. Looking back, that was a dead end.” He reiterated his belief that engaging with Epstein was a poor choice, stating, “I regret getting to know him.”

On Friday, the Department of Justice released millions of records from the Epstein investigation, including personal emails. Some suggested Gates may have engaged in an affair and attempted to procure drugs to treat sexually transmitted diseases. It was also claimed that he tried to administer medication to his then-wife, Melinda French Gates, without her consent.

A spokesperson for Gates dismissed these claims as “completely unreasonable and false.” They argued that the documents only reflected Epstein’s frustration regarding his failed relationship with Gates.

In a recent interview, Melinda French Gates shared her thoughts on the allegations involving her ex-husband. She emphasized the societal reckoning around female exploitation, expressing that, regardless of the circumstances surrounding Epstein, it’s crucial to protect girls, stating, “It’s beyond heartbreaking.” Reflecting on her daughters, she admitted that hearing the disturbing details brings back painful memories, as it reminds her of a difficult period in her marriage.

While saddened, she also highlighted that the responsibility to address the allegations lies with those involved, including her ex-husband. “I’ve moved on from that,” she noted. “I’m in a really unexpected and beautiful place in my life. The questions lingering from that time? They are for those involved to answer, not me.”

Gates, addressing the allegations, mentioned that Epstein once wrote himself an email that was never sent, expressing confusion about Epstein’s motives. He reiterated that his only involvement was attending dinners, and he had never been to Epstein’s island or encountered any of the women linked to the allegations. “Although the timing was unfortunate, those actions were unrelated to my behavior,” he clarified.
