Could it be that a sordid affair with art has been happening?
“The Simpsons” has built quite a reputation for seemingly predicting major events, from the pandemic to advancements in AI. Now, a 25-year-old episode has fans asserting that it foreshadowed a notorious element of recent history: Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous island.
In the noteworthy 2000 episode titled “Computers Wear Menace Shoes,” Homer stumbles upon the Internet and starts a gossip blog. He operates under the pseudonym “Mr.
However, revealing his identity leads to a drop in tips for his blog, pushing him to concoct a sensational story to keep his audience engaged. Ironically, one of his fabricated rumors turns out to be accurate, landing him on a mysterious island visited by individuals who know too much.
At the episode’s conclusion, Homer manages to escape and posts a warning online about “those who stalk some island” and “secretly run the world.”
Interestingly, viewers have drawn parallels between this fictional group and Jeffrey Epstein, who, alongside other high-profile figures, is accused of sexually exploiting minors on Little St. James and Great St. James islands—collectively termed “Epstein Island.” Epstein was found dead in a Manhattan jail in 2019.
“The Simpsons warned us about Epstein’s island orgy,” one user asserted. Others echoed this sentiment, recalling how the show seemed to foretell events surrounding Epstein.
Some conspiracy theorists even referenced controversial claims made by Virginia Giuffre, a notable Epstein survivor who tragically died by suicide in 2025. In legal documents from 2019, she asserted that Epstein coerced the creator of “The Simpsons” into an uncomfortable situation aboard his private jet, but she declined, humorously noting her “toenails were crunchy.”
Users on social media suggested that this episode could potentially back Groening’s claims. One commenter remarked that Groening had “put Epstein on The Simpsons,” drawing attention to Giuffre’s claims of being on Epstein’s jet with Groening, where there was an awkward foot massage request.
Another individual remarked, “So the creator of The Simpsons was connected to Epstein’s circle.” They suggested that what began as a humorous portrayal could now be viewed under an unsettling lens.
“Don’t forget, Matt Groening was on the Lolita Express with Epstein,” a user reminded others, sharing a clip from the episode in question.
