CeeDee Lamb and Michael Irvin want the Cowboys to invest in this star

San Francisco – It seems like the Dallas Cowboys are always dealing with financial complications.

Currently, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb account for a staggering 37% of the team’s salary cap, which leaves the Cowboys with limited options. Last season, they faced a similar dilemma when Micah Parsons, a constant contender for Defensive Player of the Year, was traded just days before the NFL season kicked off. Now, they’re on the verge of facing another tricky situation with George Pickens, who had a standout year.

Interestingly, both current and former Cowboys players are advocating for Pickens to join their ranks. Lamb expressed a strong desire for Pickens to secure a good contract with Dallas. He told a radio station, “Let’s make it happen.”

Furthermore, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin emphasized that Pickens should remain in Dallas, indicating that, “Jerry Jones has a lot of room to create a significant cap this year. They need to sign George Pickens early so he can head into training camp and start fresh for his second year. It’s crucial to focus on defense as well.”

After spending three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pickens was traded to the Cowboys last year, where he enjoyed career-best figures: 93 receptions, 1,429 yards, and nine touchdowns. However, the Steelers didn’t pick up his fifth-year option before the trade, making him a free agent. He earned a little over $1.6 million last year, but according to Spotrac, his market value now exceeds $30 million annually.

With Pickens and Lamb on the field together, Prescott had an impressive year, amassing 4,552 passing yards, marking the second-highest total of his career, while also leading the NFL in completed passes with 404.
