Drake Maye Embraces Super Bowl Opportunity

All eyes are on 23-year-old Drake Maye, the quarterback for the New England Patriots, as they gear up for Super Bowl LX against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, February 8, in Santa Clara, California. The game is set to kick off at 6:40pm ET.

This week, Tim Tebow, the former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner, shared his insights on young athletes during an interview. He expressed admiration for Maye, saying, “I’ve been a fan of his for a long time. He’s a very talented guy.”

Tebow encouraged Maye to “pursue it, give it your all, but fight to keep perspective.” He understands this struggle all too well, having faced similar challenges in his own career.

“Yeah, let’s go win, let’s go chase,” he urged Maye. “Whatever you can do, do it to the Lord with all your might, to the glory of Him.” Tebow also emphasized that, at the end of the day, it’s just a football game and one game doesn’t define a person.

“Feel free to play around, have fun, and know that you’re not defined by this. That’s true for everyone,” he remarked. He pointed out how society often wants to box people into a narrative based on wins and losses, stating, “That includes everything, how many championships I’ve won.”

Looking forward to the game, May opened up about his faith during a press event. He described his reliance on God as a “constant” in his life, expressing his dedication to being a light for others and leading them toward following Jesus Christ.

“That’s what God put me here to do,” he added. May found his conversation with team chaplain James Mitchell before the game to be particularly impactful. He referenced Proverbs 16:19, explaining that while people may have their own plans, it’s ultimately God who guides their steps.

May, who has been married to his college sweetheart, Ann Michael, since June, shared that he would advise his teammates to consider marriage. “I would definitely advise [my teammates] to eventually get married. It’s one of the best things in life,” he said. “There is nothing better than coming home to a wife who loves and cares for you.”
