This Christmas, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak chose an unconventional gift for his team, opting to buy each player and coach a Bible. In an interview with Sports Spectrum, Kubiak expressed that this gift is the “most important” he could offer.

Kubiak mentioned, “Every year you look for a Christmas present to show your love to your man, and what better gift than this?” His commitment to sharing his faith was evident, and he humorously noted that anyone who leaked news about his gift would be “in trouble.”

The Seahawks are gearing up to face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX this Sunday. Reflecting on his journey, Kubiak explained that he learned from many pastors the importance of identity beyond one’s job. “Our identity is in Christ. I just knew I was a child of God. Football is what I do, but being a good father and husband is far more crucial,” he shared.

Leslie Frazier, the Seahawks’ assistant head coach, praised Kubiak’s thoughtful gesture. He remarked, “It’s unique and rare to connect everyone in our building like this. It meant a lot to us all. His intention was clear—he wanted everyone to know the significance of having a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is the starting point; no one should leave without a Bible.”

The rosters of both teams are filled with players of faith. For instance, Seahawks wide receiver Jackson Smith-Njiba, who led the NFL in receiving yards this season, stated he gives “him the glory” no matter the outcome, emphasizing he is there to serve others and the Lord. Similarly, Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who was runners-up for the NFL MVP title, considers his faith to be his guiding purpose. “That’s what I’m here for: to shine a light on others so they can follow Jesus Christ,” he expressed.
