Vice President J.D. Vance and Jake Paul at Women’s Olympic Hockey Match
Vice President J.D. Vance was spotted at a U.S. Women’s Olympic hockey game alongside social media influencer and budding boxer Jake Paul.
The duo watched as the women’s national team clashed with Finland, securing a 5-0 win in the qualifying round for the Winter Olympics in Milan on Saturday.
After the first intermission, Vance, accompanied by his wife Usha and their children, made their way into the arena, where they were joined by Paul, who attended with his fiancée, Dutch speed skater Jutta Lierdam.
The Vice President appeared cheerful, engaging with Paul, who recently faced a broken jaw during a match against former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on Netflix last month.
In a light-hearted moment, they posed for a photo with their fists raised, seemingly enjoying the atmosphere with Vance’s children.
Vance’s youngest daughter, Mirabelle, was cheering for the women’s team alongside her father as they celebrated the victory.
Interestingly, Vance and his wife faced a harsher reception earlier, receiving boos from the Olympic crowd during their appearance on the jumbotron at the opening ceremony held at the San Siro soccer stadium.
In the VIP section, they were joined by notable figures, including 2010 Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek and the Lamoureux sisters—Jocelyn Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando—who contributed to the U.S. gold medal win in 2018.
The U.S. women’s hockey team had previously triumphed over the Czech Republic, beginning the qualifying rounds with a strong 2-0 record and a score of 9-1.
“I love the way it feels. Everybody has a part in winning, right? Whether it’s passing shifts, finding the back of the net, making the right pass, making the right play,” star forward Hilary Knight shared with NBC News. “It’s a real sense of selflessness that we have in that room, and I’m really proud of what this group has shown so far.”
