Chris Brown Remarks on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Performance
Chris Brown didn’t seem impressed with Bad Bunny’s halftime show at Super Bowl LX.
He took to Instagram, posting, “I think it’s safe to say…they need me,” accompanied by a winking emoji.
This comment popped up shortly after Bad Bunny’s heartfelt performance, which highlighted his Puerto Rican heritage.
The artist captivated the audience with tracks like “Monaco,” “Yo Pereo Sola,” and “Tity Me Pregunto,” while celebrities like Cardi B and Jessica Alba enjoyed the show from the sidelines.
His performance showcased various elements of Puerto Rican culture, including food, dance, and games.
Additionally, Lady Gaga surprised the crowd with her rendition of Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile,” and Puerto Rican star Ricky Martin also brought energy to the stage with “Lo Que Paso a Hawaii.”
However, some NFL fans reacted negatively to the Super Bowl featuring Spanish-speaking artists.
Bad Bunny has been vocal against the Trump administration and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which might have added to the controversy surrounding his performance.
Interestingly, Chris Brown has never performed at a Super Bowl halftime show.
Looking back, the singer had previously faced legal issues. In 2009, he pleaded guilty to felony assault against then-girlfriend Rihanna, resulting in five years of probation and community service.
Since then, he’s had several run-ins with the law. For instance, in 2017, his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran obtained a restraining order against him after an alleged altercation over returned gifts.
Most recently, Brown was arrested in Manchester for allegedly hitting music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle in 2023, leading to a lawsuit later filed by Diaw claiming he sustained serious injuries from the incident.
