Sophie Sierra Talks New Chapter in 90 Days: Single Life
Sophie Sierra is back in the dating scene after her marriage to Rob Warne, a co-star from the 90 Day Fiance franchise. In the upcoming season of 90 Days: Single Life, she aims to present a fresh side of herself. “Honestly, I was really down this past season because of some bad relationships,” Sierra admitted. “Now that I’m free from toxic situations, people will see my fun side.”
Now living in Los Angeles, she’s also busy with her chic activewear line. In 90 Days: Single Life, viewers will follow her journey toward empowerment on a girls’ trip to the Dominican Republic, accompanied by her friends, including Liz Woods and Julia Trubkina. Despite Julia being married, Sierra appreciates her as a supportive friend who helps bring her out of her shell. “She’s just such a fantastic wingwoman,” Sierra noted.
During their trip, Sierra hints at a budding connection with someone recognizable: Pedro Jimeno, who previously appeared on the show alongside his ex-spouse Chantel Everett. Attracted initially by Pedro’s looks, Sierra recounted, “I followed him because I thought he was cute, and then he slid into my DMs first.” While the interactions were light and amusing, she felt a twist when Pedro expressed wanting something more serious, leaving her rather dismayed. “I was really disappointed,” she reflected.
Sierra recently visited DECIDER to discuss her current season, her feelings about Pedro’s romantic inclinations, and what’s next for the pair.
Decider: Sophie, 90 Days: Single Life feels quite different from earlier series in the franchise. What do you want viewers to take away from it?
Sophie Sierra: I was excited for everyone to see this different side of me. Honestly, I struggled through this past season because of my rocky relationships. But now, as I’m out of those toxic situations, I think my fun side is finally emerging.
The season kicks off with a girls’ trip to the Dominican Republic! Why were Liz and Julia your go-to travel buddies?
I really needed that getaway! [laughs] It was essential to be with good friends. Even though Julia is married, she’s such a blast and encourages me to come out of my shell. Liz has been through a lot too, and since she’s single again, it felt like a perfect situation for all of us to unwind and have fun together.
Did Julia discover she was pregnant during your trip?
I honestly didn’t know until later! Julia seemed so candid about her past struggles with conceiving that I had no clue she was expecting. I was taken aback but genuinely happy for her.
I’m a bit behind on social media, but I didn’t realize you and Pedro were in contact. Who reached out first?
I initially spotted Pedro on social media shortly after becoming single. I thought he was cute, so I followed him, and then he slid into my DMs first.
What caught your eye about him?
It was definitely his looks! [laughs] There was this video I saw of him just vibing to my favorite Bad Bunny song while checking himself out in the mirror. He has this confidence that I find really attractive, so I thought following him would be a no-brainer.
It seems like you made your intentions clear to Pedro about keeping things casual. When did you feel he was more invested than you?
Actually, it was our first night in the DR. Before then, he seemed kind of distant, just casual conversation. But then, when we were at the club, I realized he was really waiting for me and introduced me to his friends. That moment felt pretty serious, and I was a bit let down.
He did pick you up with coconuts and rose petals, which felt quite romantic! Is that one of the sweetest gestures someone’s done for you?
Absolutely, it’s definitely up there! I mean, especially considering we weren’t even officially dating yet. No guy has ever done something like that for me, even in serious relationships. I thought to myself, “What does this mean?” It got me wondering.
Speaking of past relationships, when was the last time you talked to Rob before your trip?
Honestly, I hadn’t spoken to Rob for months before heading to the DR. We were trying to forge a friendship, which was just strange. I was in LA planning to visit, and it dawned on me that I couldn’t stay friends with someone from such a toxic relationship.
What can you share about your and Pedro’s journey this season?
I’d say it’s a roller coaster ride. Things between us were definitely all over the place. At times, I didn’t even know where things stood. It was a whirlwind of emotions, and sure, I sometimes let my feelings overwhelm me.
90 Days: Single Life airs Mondays at 8pm on TLC.
