Tom Brady’s influence at the Raiders’ facility is so significant that one player in Las Vegas referred to the former NFL star as the team’s “coach.”
Darnay Holmes recently discussed Brady’s role in an interview, expressing that the future Hall of Famer has left a notable mark on the Raiders. He mentioned the impact Brady has as a minority owner, saying, “He has a commanding presence in that building. When you get a great talent as a minority owner, you’re going to take advantage of him. We feel like we’re digging a deep well with him.”
Holmes, 27, noted that Brady’s animated speeches have often left him with a notepad full of ideas and conversations. He emphasized that Brady has made valuable resources available to the team, including therapists and nutritionists.
Accessibility is key, and Holmes pointed out that Brady is genuinely open to players. “He’s just a coach,” Holmes stated. “You see him in the building. You can break bread with him at lunch. And when he’s on the field, you really work on your technique because you’ve got one of the greats watching you.”
Brady’s bid to acquire a minority stake in the Raiders was approved in October 2024, and his involvement seems to be growing over time. Recently, at a press conference introducing Clint Kubiak as the new head coach, Kubiak mentioned that Brady played a significant role in the interview process.
Kubiak described Brady as “one of the big players going forward” for the Raiders, adding that he plans to reach out to him often. Holmes shared his excitement about the new coaching direction, particularly highlighting Kubiak’s trajectory: “At the end of the day, when you have a coach with the growth he’s had, that’s what you want to be around.”
