Pelosi Endorses JFK’s Grandson for Congress

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has thrown her support behind Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of President John F. Kennedy, who is campaigning for New York’s 12th Congressional District.

“Now is the time for a leader who understands the risks and knows how to serve our people. Jack Schlossberg is that kind of leader. He’s a congressional candidate we’re all excited about and someone I’m proud to support,” Pelosi stated in a portion of Schlossberg’s announcement.

She emphasized Schlossberg’s ability to navigate both the digital and political worlds, saying, “Those skills are crucial right now, and frankly, they’re pretty rare.” She called attention to his potential to get things done for the people and hold President Trump accountable.

Schlossberg reciprocated the admiration. In his own statement, he described Pelosi as a “national hero” and acknowledged her as the backbone of the Democratic Party. “No one understands Congress like she does,” he noted.

In recent discussions with her, Schlossberg explained they talked about campaign and policy strategies for NY12, and that Pelosi is confident in their chances to win.

Currently, Rep. Jerry Nadler represents the district but has opted not to seek re-election. Pelosi, too, has made a similar announcement about her own plans.

Other candidates vying in the Democratic primary include state Reps. Micah Lasher and Alex Boaz, as well as George Conway, the former husband of Kellyanne Conway, who was a senior adviser to Trump during his first term.
