Looking Ahead After a Tough Season
Ann Michael May reflects on the Patriots’ recent challenges following a disappointing Super Bowl season.
After New England’s 29-13 defeat to Seattle in the 2026 Super Bowl, the wife of quarterback Drake Maye shared some thoughts. She commended the team’s journey, which saw them rise from last place to the top of the AFC East this season. “Sure, it didn’t end as ideally as I had hoped, but I’m truly grateful for all the experiences this year brought,” she posted on Instagram. “We’ve been fortunate to have such supportive people around us. This is just the beginning!!”
Drake Maye, selected as the Patriots’ No. 3 overall pick in 2024, helped secure a remarkable 14-3 record during coach Mike Vrabel’s inaugural season.
Though the Patriots faced intense competition from teams like the Texans and Broncos in the playoffs, Seattle proved too great an opponent, marking a rough day for Maye, who threw two interceptions during the match.
He also endured six sacks and suffered a fumble. “If I could, I would go back and start this match over,” Maye admitted about the game.
Despite the setback, Maye reached out to fans on Tuesday, expressing his commitment to “do everything possible to reclaim that moment and game.”
Gratitude was a theme in his words to supporters. “Thanks to everyone for your unwavering support. I know I didn’t deliver my best performance until the final moments,” he remarked.
Dealing with a shoulder injury might have affected his game, but he acknowledged the importance of the lessons learned. “I think I’ll take this experience with me—something I’ll remember throughout my career, my life. It’s a chance to bounce back from what didn’t go my way. I’ll use it as motivation moving forward,” he shared.
Ann Michael is undoubtedly cheering him on. The couple, who have been together since childhood, got engaged in January 2025 and married last summer.
She gained recognition during the Patriots’ season, largely due to her viral holiday baking videos on TikTok. Her online presence has grown significantly, amassing over a million followers across her Instagram and TikTok accounts.
