'Real Housewives of New York City' Star Jill Zarin Let Go from 'Golden Life' Reunion Show After Criticizing Bad Bunny's Halftime Performance

Jill Zarin Fired from Bad Bunny Reunion Show

Jill Zarin, known for her role on Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City, has been let go from the upcoming reunion show of The Golden Life, following her controversial comments about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance.

Blink 49 Studios decided to part ways with Zarin after she criticized the performance, claiming it was unsuitable for children and noted the absence of white performers. In a video that has since been deleted, Zarin stated, “Worst halftime show ever,” and expressed disapproval of Bad Bunny’s actions on stage, questioning their appropriateness, especially for young viewers.

“Young kids are watching the Super Bowl, and he doesn’t need to grab himself every five seconds,” she remarked. Zarin also mentioned her lack of understanding of Spanish and her curiosity about the performance’s content.

She further added her thoughts on the show, suggesting it seemed to make a political statement due to the diverse representation, saying, “I’m not going to take sides…I think it was an ICE issue. I think the NFL is sold out, and it’s very sad.”

In response to her remarks, Blink 49 Studios released a statement highlighting their decision to discontinue her involvement based on her recent public comments. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining the series in accordance with their standards and values.

Zarin faced backlash on social media, with some labeling her comments as “ignorant inflammatory racist.” Fellow Bravo stars also expressed their views, with remarks like “Oh my god, that’s really bad,” from Tamra Judge and a dismissive comment from Janet Capana.

Chanel Ayan from Real Housewives of Dubai added, “Absolutely disgusted,” reflecting a wider criticism of Zarin’s opinions.

Interestingly, Bad Bunny’s performance carried a pro-immigration message, showcased by a soccer ball he held that read “Together, We Are America.” This sparked further discussion about the interpretation of what “America” represents in a broader context.
