Video Captures Heroic Rescue from Burning Car in Florida
Dramatic body camera footage reveals a Florida deputy rescuing a woman from a car engulfed in flames. This incident unfolded after the woman was violently carjacked on a Sunday night, with her 1-year-old child in the back seat.
Authorities reported that officers located the stolen vehicle a short distance away. However, when they attempted to pull the car over, the suspect collided with another vehicle, resulting in a significant accident.
Deputy Armin Residovic raced towards the scene and instructed a fellow deputy to break the car window. Upon reaching the vehicle, he discovered the woman inside, her hair ignited. “Oh, there’s someone, brother!” he exclaimed in the video.
Without hesitation, Residovic pulled her from the flames and moved her to safety, administering first aid until additional help arrived. The footage shows him urgently questioning the woman about any other potential passengers. Later reports clarified that a 14-year-old boy had escaped before officers arrived.
“Please stay with me,” Residovic urged her, maintaining her focus. “We need to get you away from the car… Just hang on, it’s okay.” He later told another responder, “Brother, I got to her just in time. Literally. At the last moment, I reached her.”
Meanwhile, another deputy successfully rescued the 1-year-old child from the stolen car without injury.
The suspect, identified as Richard Younger, 34, was apprehended at the accident scene and faces multiple felony charges related to the event.
The sheriff’s office commended Officer Residovic’s bravery and the coordinated efforts of all involved. After a conversation with the rescued woman, they reported her immense gratitude for being alive and the prompt response of the deputy.
As for the woman who was pulled from the burning vehicle, her identity remains undisclosed, but she is reportedly recovering well.
