Jonathan Owens’ Close Call in Italy
Jonathan Owens, who is married to Olympic champion Simone Biles and currently plays for the NFL’s Chicago Bears, shared on Sunday that he had a near-robbery experience while in Italy.
Owens was in Milan with Biles to support Team USA during the Winter Olympics. He took to social media to describe how his day almost took a drastic turn.
In a post on X, he recounted, “It’s not like someone was trying to snatch my shopping bag, it’s just a habit.” He explained that someone attempted to grab his bag but couldn’t get it off because he had it tightly held. The person fled the scene, leaving Owens somewhat stunned.
It’s unclear what items he had with him at the time. Meanwhile, Biles had shared a photo on social media of the couple at a high-end store.
By the way, they were seen cheering for the men’s figure skating free skate, following Ilia Marin’s performance. Unfortunately, Marin fell twice during the event and ended up in eighth place, which was disappointing. Biles later expressed concern for him, noting that he was “completely devastated.” She could relate to the pressures he faced, having experienced her own challenges during the Tokyo Olympics.
When it comes to competition, Biles knows how complex and intense it can be. After a difficult period, she returned to form in the 2024 Paris Games, taking home three gold medals. It’s pretty inspiring, really.
