Obama’s Take on Aliens in Recent Interview
In a recent conversation with Brian Tyler Cohen, former President Barack Obama was asked about aliens during a quick-fire questioning segment, and his response was quite surprising.
“They’re real,” Obama asserted to Cohen, prompting a flurry of speculation about what he might know regarding UFOs and extraterrestrial beings.
He elaborated, suggesting, “Statistically speaking, the universe is so vast that there is a good chance there is life in it.”
However, he clarified that he has never actually “seen” any aliens. He dismissed the classic conspiracy theories surrounding Area 51 and stated that the government isn’t hiding aliens — unless, of course, the details are being kept away from the president himself.
This wasn’t the first time Obama has touched on this intriguing topic.
In a 2021 appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” he stated, “There are some things you can’t say on the air,” before adding a more serious tone, “The truth is, there are images and recordings of objects in the sky that we don’t know exactly what they are. You can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory. They didn’t have an easily explained pattern.”
Former President Donald Trump has also expressed curiosity about aliens, bringing up experiences from his interactions with jet pilots. In a discussion with podcast host Joe Rogan, he recounted that these pilots described seeing something odd, noting, “It was flying four times faster than an F-22.” He acknowledged that there’s no real reason to dismiss the possibility of life on other planets.
Obama’s recent remarks are particularly noteworthy, especially when compared to prior comments from both presidents, which have generally acknowledged unexplained aerial phenomena without outright confirming alien life.
Following his interview, Obama took to Instagram to explain his comments further, mentioning, “We’re trying to live up to the spirit of speed rounds.” He also pointed out that while the vastness of the universe suggests the likelihood of life beyond Earth, the immense distances between solar systems make it unlikely that aliens have ever visited Earth. “During my presidency, we saw no evidence that extraterrestrial life has made contact with us. Really!” he stated.
Public interest in UFOs remains significant. A recent 2025 poll indicated that about 44% of Americans believe the government conceals information related to UFOs, while 28% disagreed, and another 28% were uncertain.
