Paul Messer taken into custody for battery at Trump golf course in West Palm Beach

Authorities in Florida detained a man identified as Paul Messer outside President Donald Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach over the weekend. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, during a confrontation with anti-Trump demonstrators, Messer struck a female protester several times in the upper chest and neck using a metal flagpole.

The woman staggered back, with visible injury on her neck, while Messer was subsequently arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail on charges related to the incident. Witnesses from the White House press corps reported that Messer was brandishing a pro-Trump flag during the altercation.

While waiting near the golf club, a small group of demonstrators gathered. Some carried signs with messages against ICE, while others displayed pro-Trump flags. The situation escalated when Messer was arrested, as noted in the pool report.

This incident follows a recent golf outing Trump had with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and notable college football coaches Urban Meyer and Nick Saban.

In the larger context, Trump has been shifting closer to DeSantis, aligning with key initiatives from the Trump administration. Recently, DeSantis launched a campaign titled “Healthy Florida First,” which he claims aligns with Trump’s health initiatives aimed at testing food safety statewide.
