Democrats Appear to Act as If Bill Clinton Is Unacknowledged

Clinton Removed from Democratic Posts After Epstein Files Released

The official social media accounts of the Democratic Party took down posts featuring former President Bill Clinton on Monday, shortly after the highly publicized release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Clinton had connections with Epstein in the past, having traveled on his plane, but he never set foot on Epstein’s private islands or in some of his residences, as a spokeswoman clarified earlier. Following the Department of Justice’s release of the files, the party shared images of various Democratic presidents, from Franklin Delano Roosevelt to others, but notably excluded Clinton from their Valentine’s Day and President’s Day features.

On February 2, both Bill and Hillary Clinton agreed to provide testimony to the House Oversight Committee regarding Epstein, after initially dismissing multiple subpoenas as politically driven. The committee’s chair, Republican Rep. James Comer, criticized Hillary’s suggestion for a four-hour press conference, arguing that such a move would frustrate the public’s demand for clarity.

While public interest in the files surged, the Clintons appeared to downplay their ties to Epstein. Notably, the former president had sent Epstein a birthday letter back in 2003, a detail that was later noted in a collection compiled by Epstein’s former associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

In a related note, Donald Trump also faced allegations of sending Epstein a birthday message featuring an explicit picture, although he has adamantly denied these claims and even filed a lawsuit against the newspaper that reported it.

Epstein faced his first indictment for prostitution-related offenses in 2006, following an investigation that started a year prior due to suspicions of inappropriate conduct involving minors.

The Justice Department released a photo depicting Clinton shirtless in a hot tub with Epstein alongside other images showing Hillary with Maxwell and Epstein at a dinner function.

Recent documents disclosed on February 1 illustrate that Maxwell significantly supported the Clinton Global Initiative, a prominent post-presidency endeavor for Clinton. Although Clinton stated that she distanced herself from Epstein before the 2006 indictment, Clinton’s press secretary emphasized that he seeks full transparency regarding the files, asserting, “He knew nothing about Epstein’s crimes.”

“Once it became clear that Epstein had no real interest in lifesaving philanthropy, there was no reason for further contact,” Ureña added. “Facts are facts, and truth is truth.”

Further filings indicate that Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick maintained communication with Epstein in the years 2011 and 2012, despite previously claiming he would avoid him entirely after a troubling encounter in October. The files also unveiled a photo of former Prince Andrew and correspondence between Epstein and former White House strategist Steve Bannon in 2018 and 2019.
