U.S. Women’s Hockey Team Advances to 2026 Olympics
On Monday, Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie, enjoyed a special moment as they watched the U.S. women’s hockey team defeat Sweden 5-0, securing a place at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
The former Eagles player, 38, wore a USA Olympic shirt and seemed thrilled in the stands next to Kylie, 33, who sported a vibrant red, white, and blue sweater as the game unfolded.
With this win, the United States will face either Canada or Switzerland in the upcoming gold medal game on Thursday. Notably, the U.S. had previously shut out Canada 5-0 in the preliminary round last week.
Kylie, the host of the podcast “Not Gonna Lie,” was selected to be part of NBC’s Olympic coverage and joined the “Milano Cortina Creator Collective” last December.
Jason, who has four daughters with Kylie, is also diving into the Olympic spirit. He has a bit of experience with Team USA’s bobsled team from his training in Park City.
Monday’s game served as a way for the Kelces to support fellow Ohio native, Laila Edwards, a 22-year-old defenseman who contributed an assist during the match against Sweden
Kylie Kelce has actively supported Edwards’ journey, even contributing to a GoFundMe created by Edwards’ parents to cover her expenses for the trip to Milan.
Travis Kelce, Jason’s brother and an accomplished NFL tight end, also reached out to Edwards, recognizing her milestone as the first black female hockey player to represent the U.S. at the Olympics.
Reflecting on the Kelces’ support, Edwards expressed her gratitude, saying, “He just said everyone is rooting for me. I’m really thankful they reached out.” She’s on the verge of potentially winning gold in her first Olympic experience.
Meanwhile, it’s uncertain what’s next for Travis as he plans his wedding after getting engaged to Taylor Swift in August. The Winter Olympics will continue through Sunday.
