Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Afterparty

Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican superstar known as Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, celebrated a unique Super Bowl afterparty at his Spanish restaurant, Macarena Palo Alto. This event took place far from the dazzling lights of Levi’s Stadium, just a few hours earlier.

On Sunday night, he closed down the restaurant, hosting around 50 of his friends and family. Interestingly, he had informed the staff just a week prior, appearing as a “mystery celebrity.” The team was caught off guard when he made a sudden entrance, adding an element of surprise to the night.

To keep things under wraps, the restaurant implemented a no-phone policy for employees. No one outside the venue knew it was Bad Bunny until a week later when he was officially unveiled. Macarena shared on Instagram, “It was a night I’ll never forget. Super Bowl Sunday at Macarena Palo Alto. Thank you, Benito!”

The restaurant’s owners, David Linares and Elizabeth Reviriego, mentioned they had received the request for the exclusive event just days earlier. They wanted to minimize potential disruption from fans, so staff were only informed about the exact time of arrival shortly before he showed up.

That night, he and his group enjoyed a special “Benito Edition” menu that featured dishes such as croquettes with Iberico ham, oxtail cannellone, paella, and crab with potato salad. According to Linares, Bad Bunny was surprisingly humble: “We didn’t know he was a superstar,” he remarked, noting how down-to-earth the artist was.

Before leaving, Bad Bunny expressed his appreciation by shaking hands with all the staff on duty, which, according to Linares, made everyone feel quite special. “At that moment, he was the most important person in the world,” he added.

The restaurant is set to open officially in February 2025, gearing up for its first anniversary celebration amidst significant local excitement.
