Allegations Against NFL Player Lachie Rice
Dacoda Nicole Jones, the former girlfriend of Chiefs wide receiver Lachie Rice, has filed a lawsuit in Dallas, alleging a series of assaults by Rice ranging from choking to physical violence between December 2023 and July 2025.
According to court documents, Jones claims that Rice exhibited repeated violent behavior throughout their relationship.
Jones, who shares two children with Rice, contends that much of the abuse took place while she was pregnant. She describes experiencing “bleeding, swelling, bruising, and other pain” across various parts of her body, including her neck and face.
She also accuses Rice of throwing objects at her and engaging in violent outbursts, such as “punching walls and breaking furniture.”
In the lawsuit, Jones is seeking over $1 million, though the specific amount isn’t detailed.
The Kansas City Chiefs commented, stating they are aware of the situation and are in touch with the NFL regarding the incident.
This legal action follows an Instagram post from Jones last month where she revealed she had been suffering from abuse for years and described her post-breakup experience with Rice as “nothing but hell.”
Her Instagram account seems to have been deleted since then.
While she did not explicitly name Rice in her posts, she shared images depicting various bruises and scratches on her body. In a prior post, now unavailable, she accused her ex of damaging her belongings and locking her outside in cold weather while pregnant, as well as abandoning her and their children in Kansas.
Expressing her frustration, Jones indicated that she was done defending Rice’s reputation and prioritized protecting her well-being and that of her children.
Following these allegations, the NFL has launched an investigation concerning Rice’s potential breach of the league’s personal conduct policy, though he remains an active player.
Recently, Rice made headlines by publicly announcing his relationship with model Ruby Rose on Instagram.
Separately, Rice pleaded guilty to involvement in a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas that led to injuries for multiple individuals during the 2024 season. He received a five-year probation sentence and must serve 30 days in Dallas County Jail during that period. Additionally, he faced a six-game suspension from the NFL and agreed to pay over $1 million in settlements to those affected by the accident.
