Ohio teacher Ashley Flynn's husband's urgent 911 call following the fatal shooting

Tragic Shooting in Tipp City

The husband of a Christian teacher, who was fatally shot in their home while their children were asleep, called 911 to report the incident.

This occurred in the early hours of February 16 in Tipp City, Ohio. Emergency responders were dispatched to the home of Ashley and Caleb Flynn after receiving a burglary call, according to police records.

The dispatcher noted a potential break-in, stating that a woman had been shot and was unresponsive. As they prepared for the squad’s arrival, the dispatcher confirmed with first responders that only one victim was present.

Authorities revealed that Ashley, Caleb, and their two children were the only individuals inside during the break-in.

Details from the call indicated the presence of children in the residence, with dispatchers noting, “The boys are currently sleeping in their own rooms.”

On Thursday, Tipp City Commissioner Greg Adkins addressed rumors that a suspect was in custody and had confessed to Ashley’s murder. He stated that such information was false and had not been released by the police or city officials.

Adkins emphasized the need for the case to be handled through legal channels, given the immense loss experienced by the Flynn family.

The FBI is assisting local law enforcement, including the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, in the ongoing investigation.

Adkins remarked that the incident appears isolated to the Flynn residence, assuring the community that there is currently no broader public danger.

As of Thursday afternoon, no suspect had been named, with autopsy results still pending.

Caleb Flynn, who once appeared on “American Idol,” expressed his love for Ashley during the show. In his 2013 interview, he described her as beautiful and highlighted their shared faith.

Ashley was remembered for her kindness and the positive impact she made both in her classroom and beyond, according to the school district.

The Butler Township Christian Life Center mourned her loss, with Pastor Jordan Hansen asking for prayers for her family during this difficult time, stating that she had been “murdered in her own home.”

He urged the community to seek comfort and grace from God amidst the tragedy.

Anyone with relevant information or footage is encouraged to reach out to the Tipp Police Department or the Miami County Communications Center.

Tipp City is located in western Ohio, roughly 32 miles north of Dayton.
