Snooki Shares Health Journey, Urges Routine Check-ups
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is candidly discussing her personal health struggle and is encouraging others to prioritize their routine medical check-ups.
In a recent TikTok video posted on Friday, the Jersey Shore star revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer, specifically adenocarcinoma, after a cone biopsy.
“My stage 1 cervical cancer, called adenocarcinoma, has come back,” she expressed with a noticeable sigh. “It wasn’t the news I was hoping for, but it’s not the worst either, considering how quickly they found it. Thank you!”
At 38, Polizzi explained that she had been dealing with abnormal Pap smear results for several years. She emphasized that early detection played a crucial role in identifying the cancer at a stage where treatment is possible.
“I’ve been grappling with abnormal Pap smears for the last three or four years. Here I am now,” she said. “Instead of postponing my appointment because I was scared and worried, I just went in. They found the cancer, but luckily, it’s stage one and treatable.”
She urged her followers to be proactive about their health. “So make sure you follow through with your promises! Seriously!” she added. “Once it hits stage two, chemotherapy is usually necessary, and nobody wants that. It’s frightening. So please, schedule those appointments.”
Polizzi mentioned that her next step involves meeting with her oncologist and having a PET scan to check if the cancer has spread.
“Then I’ll likely have a hysterectomy,” she said, pointing out that doctors indicated chemotherapy and radiation would be alternatives. “I think the best choice here is a hysterectomy, and I’m fortunate to keep my ovaries. But yes, I need to remove my cervix and uterus depending on what the PET scan shows.”
Despite the diagnosis, she maintains a hopeful outlook about her recovery.
“So, 2026 isn’t turning out the way I had envisioned,” she said. “But it could always be worse.”
Polizzi highlighted how prevalent cervical cancer is and urged those facing similar health issues to seek assistance.
“Many women endure this alone, keeping their struggles to themselves. I was in that place, too, until I decided to share my experience,” she shared, as a mother of three. “I appreciate having a platform to discuss these topics with each other,” she continued. “Thank you for all the support. I’m determined to get through this.”
“I’m focused on tackling this, and I truly believe everything will work out,” she concluded.
Earlier, in a TikTok from January 23rd, Polizzi admitted she needed a colposcopy and biopsy after doctors found abnormalities in her cells.
“The results came back, and my doctor said, ‘It doesn’t look good.’ They discovered cancer cells in the upper part of my cervix,” she recalled, indicating that she was waiting for further biopsy results.
She reflected on how fear initially delayed her appointments, hoping others wouldn’t make the same mistake.
“Doctors often express frustration when patients wait. I postponed my visit knowing that I might hear bad news, but I also avoided the pain and stress of it all,” she explained.
“I’m sharing this to raise awareness and to emphasize the importance of getting your Pap smear. If your doctor suggests another one, please follow through,” she urged. “Stay informed about your health and work to prevent serious conditions like cervical cancer.”
