Nicole Polizzi’s Cervical Cancer Diagnosis
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has shared that she has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. The reality star posted a seven-minute update on TikTok, discussing her health condition following a colon biopsy.
In her video, the 38-year-old “Jersey Shore” alum expressed, “The results of my colon biopsy came back…and it was stage 1 cervical cancer, which is called adenocarcinoma.” She added, “Obviously it wasn’t the news I was hoping for, but it wasn’t the worst news for them to know so quickly either. Thank you so much!”
After revealing her diagnosis, Snooki urged her followers to prioritize regular cervical cancer screenings, noting, “I’ve been suffering from abnormal cervical cancer tests for the past three or four years. Now I want you to look at me.”
She mentioned that, instead of ignoring her health issues, she made timely appointments, admitting she felt “hurt and scared.” Importantly, she reassured her audience, saying, “Cancer exists, but it’s stage 1 and it’s curable.”
“So end your promises, you guys! I tell you!” she emphasized, sharing her worries about advancing to stage 2 which might require chemotherapy. “It’s scary. So please get your appointment done.”
Regarding her treatment, Polizzi mentioned she will start with a PET scan to check if the cancer has spread, followed by what she likely sees as a necessary hysterectomy. Although doctors discussed options like chemotherapy and radiation, she feels a hysterectomy is the best route, stressing that deciding depends on the PET scan results.
“Many women go through this situation in silence, without telling anyone, alone and scared,” she reflected. “And so was I, until I decided to upload a video about what was happening to me.”
The heartfelt video sparked a wave of support from fans, including fellow “Jersey Shore” star Sammy Giancola, who called her “the strongest woman!” One fan pointed out that by being open and transparent, she’s breaking down stigma surrounding these issues. Another shared, “I haven’t had my appointments in over 8 years. Just got off the phone with my gynecologist. Thanks for sharing!”
Polizzi first voiced her health concerns in a TikTok posted on January 23, emphasizing the necessity of regular cervical cytology tests. She concluded with gratitude for the overwhelming support, saying, “Thank you for all the love. Everything will be fine. I’m going to work on this and see it through.”
