Jennifer Lopez celebrated her twins, Max and Emme, on their 18th birthday with a heartfelt tribute.
On Instagram, she shared a touching video montage highlighting memorable moments from their childhood, all set to One Direction’s “18.” The clip even included Emme’s surprise performance with Shakira during Lopez’s Super Bowl LIV halftime show back in 2020.
Lopez, who shares her children with ex-husband Marc Anthony, reflected on their arrival during a snowstorm one night in New York City.
“It felt like God was guiding you into a world full of magic!” she expressed in her post. “I always envisioned your lives would be this beautiful!”
“When I first held you, I truly felt like I was holding two angels sent right from heaven. My life changed forever,” she added.
Lopez affectionately referred to her kids as “Coconuts” and shared just how deeply she loves them.
“Words like ‘I love you’ don’t quite capture the depth of my feelings, Coconuts,” she wrote. “It’s just been the three of us on this journey.”
She continued with warmth, “We always held on tight through every storm, and I guarantee you, my precious coconut, that won’t ever change, no matter how much you grow.”
She reminisced, saying, “We’ve been through so much together,” referencing their lives before her children turned 18.
Lopez also took a moment to send special birthday wishes directly to Emme and Max, saying, “Always remember, Lulu, you are my sunshine…and Max, you are perfect just the way you are!! Happiest 18th Birthday to my Wonder Twins!”
Last October, the twins attended the New York City premiere of her film Kiss of the Spider Woman, making a rare public appearance with their mom, who appeared delighted on the red carpet.
Emme donned a stylish red velvet jacket while Max sported a colorful ensemble, a mix of fun and formality that suited the event.
Earlier in the month, Lopez had a candid moment when sharing about a conversation she had with Max and Emme, revealing that they once confronted her about feeling neglected during a particularly busy period in her life. This heartfelt exchange occurred during the pandemic when they had the chance to communicate more openly.
“They told me, ‘You’re not a typical mom. You’re not around like others,’” she recounted, emphasizing the significance of that moment and how it opened her eyes to their needs.
