Investigation into Murder of Philanthropist Robert Fuller Jr. Continues
Authorities have released footage of a suspect connected to the shooting of a prominent philanthropist in a wealthy suburb near Washington, D.C. The incident resulted in the death of Robert Fuller Jr., 87, who was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head in his apartment at the Cogill Potomac Senior Living facility early on February 14. The police are treating the case as a homicide.
Recent surveillance video shows an individual in the vicinity of the senior living facility at the time of the incident. This person is now considered a suspect in Fuller’s murder.
As for the suspect, details regarding gender or race are currently unclear. Investigators indicated that the individual in the video could be either male or female.
The footage depicts a person with long black hair moving away from the camera. While the angle of the video doesn’t reveal their face, the individual appears to have a distinctive walking style.
Police have encouraged anyone who might recognize the suspect based on their clothing or mannerisms to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 240-773-5070, or they can reach out to Montgomery County Crime Solvers. There’s a potential reward ranging from $250 to $10,000 for tips leading to an arrest.
Fuller was a retired Navy Reserve officer and a respected attorney from Augusta, Maine. He was well-known for his philanthropic efforts. Reports mention that Fuller contributed over $1.6 million to upgrade the athletic facilities at Coney High School in Augusta, an initiative that faced financial hurdles during the pandemic. Subsequently, the stadium was named in his honor.
Additionally, Fuller supported various local institutions, including the Maine General Medical Center, Kennebec Historical Society, and local libraries, showcasing his commitment to improving community resources.
