Friendliness Rankings in LA Neighborhoods

Curious if your neighborhood ranks among the friendliest in Los Angeles? Nextdoor, a platform where verified neighbors connect, recently shared findings indicating that some areas are notably more welcoming than others. The neighborhoods topping the “Friendly Score” list are Trinity & 36th Street in Historic South Central LA and Atwater Village.

The researchers explain that the rankings are based on genuine interactions observed on the Nextdoor platform. This includes how residents assist one another, share resources, and foster community ties.

Interestingly, factors influencing the rankings encompass the overall tone of posts—whether they’re positive or negative—as well as feedback to neighbors seeking help or recommendations. They also look at expressions of pride or frustration, and how many items are shared for free in the “Sale and Free” section.

Another aspect considered is the sense of welcome within the community, which is measured through posts that promote local businesses or respond warmly to neighbors.

Both Trinity & 36th Street and Atwater Village secured a flawless score of 100. Nextdoor describes Trinity & 36th Street as “a diverse urban neighborhood known for its historic homes and close-knit community.” Atwater Village is depicted as “cozy,” providing a vibrant mix of residential and commercial spaces with various local shops and eateries.

Following closely behind, South Del Rey scored 99. It’s characterized as a “quiet residential neighborhood” with around 4,000 residents, praised for its diversity, proximity to the beach, and convenient access to city amenities, making it a great choice for families and professionals alike.
