According to a source, the romance between Cardi B and Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs has become “too heated.” A report on Wednesday revealed that things got complicated. Cardi, noted for her seriousness, decided to “walk away” from the relationship.
The source added that when Cardi sensed a lack of trust, she chose to shift her focus towards her children, her music, and her touring schedule. Stability is what she needs, and she wants the same for her kids.
Cardi recently kicked off her “Little Miss Drama” tour in California and is set to wrap it up on April 18. Last November, she and Diggs welcomed a son together.
Cardi has three children from her estranged husband, rapper Offset: two daughters, Kulture, 7, and Blossom, 1, along with a son, Wave, 4. Reports say they are co-parenting, but things aren’t entirely closed off for a future reconnection.
This news came shortly after Diggs appeared in court, pleading not guilty to felony strangulation and other charges linked to an alleged incident with his personal chef earlier this month in Dedham, Massachusetts.
His attorney mentioned that Diggs’ arraignment was postponed from its initial date of January 23 due to “pre-scheduled professional commitments.” This arraignment was meant to occur just before the AFC Championship game.
Diggs is accused of slapping and choking his personal chef over a financial disagreement in December.
The police report stated that the chef claimed Diggs choked her to the point of unconsciousness. Currently, the 32-year-old All-Pro wide receiver is facing serious charges, having recently completed his first year of a three-year, $69 million contract with the Patriots.
Cardi recently stated during a concert that she and Diggs were “not dating” anymore, adding more weight to the already swirling breakup rumors that have existed since the Super Bowl, when the Patriots faced off against the Seattle Seahawks.
Following that game, it seemed the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram. Cardi was present at the Super Bowl, even appearing during Bad Bunny’s halftime show.
In media sessions leading up to the Super Bowl, both Cardi and Diggs were reticent when questioned about their relationship.
Diggs had made headlines speculating about a potential proposal to Cardi, stating, “That’ll be on the agenda, right? I have to get it. [my ring] beginning.”
When Cardi was asked if she had any words for Diggs before the Super Bowl, she simply said, “Good luck,” before moving on.
