Vance: No Long-Term U.S. War in the Middle East

As tensions escalate and President Donald Trump urges Iran to give up its nuclear goals, Vice President J.D. Vance stated in an interview that the likelihood of the United States getting drawn into a prolonged conflict in the Middle East is “no chance.” He expressed this sentiment to the Washington Post.

Vance emphasized, “The notion that we will see endless wars in the Middle East for years to come? There’s simply no chance of that.” He noted that while a diplomatic solution is preferred, it largely depends on Iran’s actions and statements.

He also reflected on past conflicts, saying, “We should avoid repeating previous mistakes, yet it’s important not to overlearn from history. Just because a past president mishandled a military engagement doesn’t mean we can’t address new conflicts carefully. I think the president is being prudent in his approach.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Vance’s office and the White House for comments on the matter.

In a recent State of the Union address, President Trump reiterated, “My hope is to resolve this issue through diplomacy, but we cannot let the world’s top sponsor of terrorism gain access to nuclear weapons.” He also remarked that while he prefers making a deal with Iran, not reaching an agreement could lead to severe consequences for the nation and its people.
