Bill Clinton faces tough questioning in House Oversight Epstein investigation.

Bill Clinton to Testify in Epstein Investigation

Former President Bill Clinton is set to give a deposition on Friday as part of the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. The meeting will take place at 11 a.m. at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center in Westchester County, New York—where the Clintons have resided since leaving the White House.

For several months, there has been significant interest from Republicans in questioning Clinton about his past connections to Epstein. The committee has been in discussions with Clinton’s legal team regarding the specifics of the deposition.

It’s anticipated that both Democratic and Republican members will have critical comments for Clinton and the committee staff. Interestingly, Clinton’s testimony follows a lengthy deposition from his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Some sources indicate that Bill Clinton’s deposition may take even longer than hers.

Despite the intensified scrutiny, Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has clarified that the Clintons are not facing accusations of wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. “No one is accusing the Clintons of any wrongdoing at this point,” he stated. “We have many questions, and the entire purpose of this investigation is to delve deeper into Epstein’s activities.”

The Clinton pair’s depositions are expected to be available for public viewing in video format later on. Hillary Clinton mentioned during her opening remarks that she doesn’t recall any interactions with Epstein and has not provided new information beyond what was submitted in her earlier statement.

She characterized the committee’s investigation as a “fishing expedition,” suggesting that there’s a political angle at play, particularly aimed at drawing attention to President Trump. “The committee should be focused on developing concrete steps to prevent future human trafficking incidents,” she asserted.

However, the case against Epstein became well-known, particularly in relation to Bill Clinton, who had a documented association with Epstein even before the latter was investigated for his crimes.

Clinton’s name and photographs have frequently surfaced in documents related to Epstein’s activities, particularly flight records indicating that he had traveled on Epstein’s private jet. Importantly, neither Clinton has been implicated in any of Epstein’s alleged crimes.

The Oversight Committee has also spoken to former Trump officials, including former Attorney General Bill Barr and former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta, as part of their inquiry. This follows a tense situation where the House nearly voted to hold the Clintons in contempt for not complying with a subpoena; however, that motion was halted when they agreed to cooperate.
