Country Singer JD Graham’s Tragic Accident

JD Graham is, well, lucky to be alive after a serious incident. His family shared earlier this week that he suffered a neck injury when a tractor-trailer collided with him. He was subsequently airlifted to the hospital, and he decided to give everyone an update.

“I’m barely alive here. Thank you, everyone. I’m still a bit confused, but my daughter says people are helping me,” he mentioned in a video on Facebook, visibly wearing a neck brace.

“I broke my back, my ribs, and, what’s really heartbreaking, my dog died in the car with me. That’s just tragic,” he added with a sense of sorrow.

Despite the overwhelming nature of his injuries, Graham expressed gratitude for the support he’s receiving. “I look forward to seeing you all soon,” he said. Although he’s focused on healing, he admitted, “I’m not worried about music right now, just have to get better.” He promised to keep his fans updated.

In the caption of the post, Graham’s daughter wrote, “Dad wanted to update everyone personally. The devil works hard, but God works harder. Thank you for your continued support.”

His family announced the accident on social media for the first time on a Wednesday morning. Graham was involved in a “serious accident” on the interstate and wasn’t alone; he collided with a semi-truck as well as another vehicle, according to the police.

“We’re still waiting for tests to determine the full extent of his injuries,” his daughter explained. “The recovery will be lengthy and challenging. He has broken his neck, back, and several ribs and won’t be able to walk for a while.”

Graham was helped out of the SUV by paramedics and then airlifted to a trauma center in Texas, where he’s currently being treated. His family expressed how tough it has been to see someone so strong go through this. Meanwhile, his wife is dealing with her own health issues and can’t work right now.

She shared that even when he returns home, the road ahead requires significant physical and mental rehabilitation. It will take time, strength, and a lot of patience.

Speaking of support, a local venue, Midnight Slip, where Graham was set to perform on March 7, announced they will continue with the show—just without him. They also mentioned that all ticket proceeds would go towards his recovery.

The venue expressed sentiments about Graham’s character, noting, “Please join us to celebrate and support one of the greatest people and songwriters I’ve ever met.” They’re also encouraging fans to keep him and his family in their thoughts and prayers.

On another note, Graham has faced personal battles before; he dealt with addiction for 25 years after being prescribed medication for anxiety at a young age. He even spent five years in prison due to a tragic car accident. However, he found purpose again through his music, which his biography highlights.
