Dennis Quaid Shows Support for President Trump in Texas

Dennis Quaid openly supports President Donald Trump. At a public event in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Friday, the well-known actor briefly took the stage alongside the President to share his appreciation. During the event, Trump discussed his energy and economic agenda, touching on themes from his recent State of the Union address.

“We have an actor, and he’s one of the best actors in America,” Trump said, calling Quaid to join him on stage. “Hey, Dennis. Come here, Dennis, come here.”

As Quaid approached the podium, he greeted the crowd, saying, “Hello, Corpus Christi. Hello, Texas. My home state. I love Corpus Christi and I love Donald Trump,” before leaving the stage.

Earlier that day, Senator Ted Cruz mentioned on X that Quaid had flown to Texas with Trump on Air Force One. Cruz posted a photo of himself with Quaid and commented, “Going to Texas with President Trump on AF1 with the great Dennis Quaid.” He even shared a video of Quaid sitting next to Trump on the plane, where he asked Quaid to mimic a conversation between Trump and Ronald Reagan, who is portrayed in Quaid’s upcoming film.

Cruz characterized the moment as “a historic conversation about AF1 between two great American presidents.”

Quaid has been a longtime supporter of Trump, and he has made his political views known. In a recent appearance on the Greg Laurie Show, he reflected on the political shifts over the years.

In his conversation with Laurie, Quaid stated, “Things have gone to a very extreme, very left-wing direction right now.” He recalled a podcast discussion featuring Bill Maher and Dana Carvey, where Carvey mentioned how some friends in Hollywood had suggested he was a Nazi for being a Clinton Democrat. Quaid remarked on the absurdity of such labels, stating, “You can’t do that,” and compared being a Clinton Democrat to being labeled as a right-wing neocon.

The actor characterized himself as a “common sense independent,” while also acknowledging, “In my head, I tend to be more conservative.” He insisted, “I’m just common sense and the real me.”

Later in the podcast, Quaid shared his thoughts on Trump, noting that he finds him to be “very approachable, very funny, very honest.” He added that voters appreciate Trump because they recognize he has their best interests at heart.
