Update on Operation Epic Fury
President Trump shared news on Operation Epic Fury on Sunday, following a coordinated military strike by the United States and Israel that resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
In his address, Trump described Operation Epic Fury as “one of the largest, most complex, and most overwhelming military attacks the world has ever seen,” referring to Khamenei as a “wretched, despicable man” responsible for the deaths of many innocent civilians.
“In the last 36 hours, the US and our allies have executed Operation Epic Fury. It’s unprecedented, and we’ve targeted numerous installations in Iran, including Revolutionary Guard facilities and air defense systems. We’ve even destroyed nine ships and their naval structures in a matter of minutes,” Trump stated.
He emphasized that “combat operations are ongoing at full capacity” and will persist until military objectives are met.
According to reports, the US and Israel coordinated their attacks to “neutralize Iran’s missile stockpile.”
The strikes occurred at night, with Trump addressing the Iranian people directly. He indicated that the action was necessary to eliminate a “direct threat posed by the Iranian regime,” which endangered the US and its allies. He noted that “just recently, U.S. forces initiated large-scale operations in Iran.”
In retaliation, Iran launched attacks against Israel.
Trump mentioned that the goal of the assault was to destroy Iran’s missile capabilities and its production capabilities in this area. “The priority is to prevent Iran from developing long-range missiles that could threaten the US or our European allies,” he added.
In his speech, Trump also revealed that three U.S. service members lost their lives in combat, and five were seriously injured.
“We mourn for our true American heroes who sacrificed everything for our country while pursuing justice,” he said. “Our thoughts are with the injured as they recover, and we extend our deep gratitude to the families of the fallen. Sadly, we may not be finished with this situation yet.”
