Waltz Criticizes Iranian Diplomat Who Asked Him to 'Be Polite'

U.N. Ambassador Mike Walz responded assertively to Iranian diplomats’ suggestion that he should temper his language. This came amid significant military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran’s Islamic regime.

This exchange took place during a United Nations Security Council emergency meeting. According to reports, Iran’s U.N. ambassador, Amir Saeed Irabani, advised Walz to, “behave with civility. It will be better for you and the country you represent.”

However, Walz was firm in his response, stating, “Frankly, I’m not going to dignify this with a different response, especially since this representative is sitting here on behalf of a regime that has murdered tens of thousands of its own citizens and imprisoned many more simply because they sought freedom from tyranny.”

Iran has accused U.S. officials of breaching international law and escalating tensions following the initiation of Operation Epic Fury. Still, Walz maintained that the action was lawful and necessary to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities that pose a global threat.

Following the initial strike against Iran, President Donald Trump confirmed the death of supreme leader Ali Khamenei, urging the Iranian populace to consider taking control of their government.

During the U.N. conference, Walz emphasized, “This is a moment in history that calls for moral clarity, and President Trump has delivered that moment.”

Reports indicate that Iranians, both domestically and globally, celebrated Operation Epic Fury and the death of Khamenei.

Operation Epic Fury followed a period of intense violence in Iran, with widespread anti-government protests erupting in December. These protests were partly fueled by worsening economic conditions and the regime’s prioritization of financing terrorism abroad while committing severe human rights abuses. The government’s brutal crackdown led to tens of thousands of deaths. Some estimates put the toll at around 30,000 just one month after the protests. Consequently, many Iranians began to openly support U.S. and Israeli military operations globally, feeling liberated from an oppressive regime.

President Trump commented that the operation resulted in the removal of at least 48 senior Iranian officials.

Waltz also remarked that Trump is the “President of Peace,” crediting him for leveraging the presidency and his personal connections with global leaders, who often distrust one another yet find common ground with him.
