Crosby Expresses Excitement After Trade Talks Fall Through

Max Crosby finally broke his silence more than 24 hours after the trade discussions that didn’t pan out. And, well, he seems pretty pleased to be back with the Raiders.

On Wednesday night, he shared a GIF on X featuring WWE’s Undertaker, famously coming back to life. A little humor can go a long way, don’t you think?

“Everything happens for a reason,” he wrote. “Don’t believe anything you hear or half of what you see. I’m a Raider. I’m back. Run now.” Quite the declaration, really.

On Tuesday evening, it came to light that the Ravens had decided against a trade that would have sent two first-round picks to the Raiders for the Pro Bowl edge rusher.

Apparently, Baltimore was uneasy about Crosby undergoing a medical exam prior to the trade going through. Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta expressed his disappointment, saying he was “heartbroken” not to secure Crosby. He added, “It’s very disappointing and very disappointing for me, but we’re going to move forward as a football team.”

Despite the setback, DeCosta mentioned they’re looking to form a solid defensive line, aiming to pair Crosby with newly signed pass rusher Trey Hendrickson. It seems they didn’t just throw together a last-minute decision either.

Crosby remains under contract with the Raiders until 2029, following a contract extension back in 2022. It’s notable that some are questioning whether he was aware of his team’s plans before making his social media posts—ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicated that several teams had reached out to the Raiders regarding Crosby.

After undergoing meniscus surgery earlier this year, Crosby had a rocky end to the last season, getting suspended for the final two games. He was also escorted out of the team facility at that time. His representative seems to reassure fans about his health, stating that “Max is on track to return during the offseason program and will undoubtedly return as the dominant game-wrecker of the past seven seasons.”
