Trump’s Comments on Iran and National Security
President Donald Trump recently expressed his support for the rapid military response regarding Iran, yet he also highlighted the concern of potential “sleeper cells” of terrorists that need to be watched closely.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Trump mentioned he had received briefings about terrorist threats, including an alleged plan for a drone attack in California. He suggested that these threats may stem from what he described as former President Joe Biden’s “foolish policy of an open border.”
“Many people entered through Biden’s open border initiative, but we are aware of where most of them are. We are keeping tabs on everyone,” Trump stated.
“They crossed the border due to the careless policies of Sleepy Joe Biden—one of the worst presidents our country has seen. We’re watching all of them closely,” he added.
Trump then discussed the ongoing conflict, stating, “The war is unfolding in a manner that has never been witnessed before. It’s quite remarkable.” His assessments seemed to evoke a sense of admiration for the military operations.
When confronted about a leaked bulletin concerning possible Iranian retaliation in California, where a boat might deploy a swarm of drones, Trump remarked, “We’re looking into it, but there are many factors at play. We just take things as they come.”
He further asserted, “The war is being managed at an unprecedented level, and that’s the feedback I’m getting from other nations as well. They agree this is an evil regime, and it has been for 47 years.”
While warnings regarding drone attacks in California are not new, beginning in February, authorities have intensified their surveillance activity as Iran continues to threaten response actions against both Israel and the U.S.
