Attempted Bombing Outside Gracie Mansion
Over the past weekend, there was an alarming incident outside Gracie Mansion, the residence of New York City’s Muslim Mayor Zoran Mamdani. During a confrontation between anti-Muslim protesters and their counter-protesters, two teenagers from Pennsylvania—Emir Barat, 18, and Ibrahim Qayumi, 19—were accused of tossing two homemade explosive devices into the crowd.
Thankfully, both explosives failed to detonate, and there were no injuries reported. The two young men were arrested and now face serious charges, including attempting to support a designated foreign terrorist organization through the use of weapons of mass destruction, transportation of explosives, and illegal possession of destructive devices.
Gabriel Victor, a photojournalist with TPUSA Frontlines, witnessed the chaotic events firsthand. He remarked, however, that this wasn’t the first occurrence of violence in that context.
On “The John Doyle Show,” Victor recounted his experience during the attack and shared some insights you likely won’t encounter in mainstream media. He mentioned that other instances of violence were present, especially directed towards right-wing journalists whom protesters dismissed as “Zionists.”
He described the moment the attempted bombing occurred while he and his colleague were busy editing footage. “Out of nowhere, we see this guy…and then a big cloud of smoke. Everyone starts shouting ‘Bomb, bomb!’”—Victor’s narration hints at the unpredictable chaos that erupted.
Interestingly, one person who yelled about the bomb was a transgender individual who seemed to immediately advocate for the arrested suspect. Victor captured this surreal moment, noting that even in the midst of chaos, the sense of solidarity was palpable among those involved.
Victor elaborated that such scenes are not uncommon in Minneapolis, where community members often rush to defend those arrested during protests against law enforcement or journalists.
