Katherine Heigl Celebrates Reaching $5 Million in Charity at Mar-A-Lago Event

Katherine Heigl Praises Trump’s Charity Event for Animal Rescue

Actress Katherine Heigl shared her enthusiasm about the success of a charity event hosted by President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Heigl, known for her role in “Grey’s Anatomy,” had been notably absent from the public eye for the past couple of years. She released a statement regarding the Big Dog Ranch Rescue fundraiser supporting Wine, Women and Shoes, which took place at Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida resort earlier in March. Reports noted that the event raised millions of dollars.

Heigl stated, “Animals don’t vote.” She emphasized that the only place animals truly dislike is the ‘euthanasia room’ at shelters, explaining that they are entirely dependent on humans and lack their own voice. “This event is about animal advocacy and has always been very personal to me,” she added.

Laura Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law, was also present at the event, which gathered significant funds for animal rescues. Heigl shared her long-standing commitment to animal welfare. “Anyone who knows me knows that animal protection is one of my greatest passions,” she mentioned, referencing the years she and her mother, Nancy, have dedicated to advocating for animals through the Jason Heigl Foundation.

She stressed the need for society to unite in safeguarding the voiceless and innocent, showing a clear desire to transcend political divides. “This shouldn’t be a polarizing issue,” she remarked.

Heigl proudly noted that due to the generosity of those involved, over $5 million was raised to assist animals in distress, especially those who have suffered abuse or neglect. “We are so grateful to everyone who participated, supported, and continued to stand up for animals who cannot speak for themselves,” she said.

Before the event took place, Heigl expressed her main objective: to tackle the overflow of unwanted animals in shelters, stating, “Our country is full of puppy mill breeders.”
