Ex-NFL Player Charged with Murder After Disturbing ChatGPT Conversations

A former NFL player, Daron Lee, has been charged with first-degree murder following an incident involving his fiancée, Gabriela Perpetuo. Authorities claim that over two days, Lee engaged in multiple conversations with ChatGPT, discussing the circumstances surrounding the death of Perpetuo.

During these discussions, he reportedly expressed confusion and distress, saying, “My fiancé did something weird again and now I’m a mess.” Investigators discovered various blood stains in Lee’s home, including in the bathroom and kitchen, raising significant concerns about what transpired.

When questioned by police, Lee claimed he had been “sleeping” and didn’t know what happened to Perpetuo, suggesting she might have fallen through a glass shower door. However, the evidence found in the house told a different story. Body camera footage captured Lee’s bewilderment over the situation.

The chat history included queries such as, “What do I do if I find someone unresponsive, but I don’t want to call the police?” One message detailed an alarming discovery: “I woke up to find her two eyes swollen (I didn’t do anything, my own fault). Did she stab herself?”

Further investigations revealed that Perpetuo suffered extensive injuries before her death, including facial bruises and a fracture in her vertebrae. Prior to this incident, Lee had a history of violence, facing charges related to aggravated assault.

Adding to the complexity, it came to light that Lee had named his chatbot “Allie,” which he consulted for advice on covering up the events that occurred. Subsequently, Perpetuo’s family filed a lawsuit against Lee for $50 million, highlighting the serious nature of the allegations.
