House Party in San Diego Neighborhood Gets Out of Control
On Saturday night, deputies were dispatched following reports of a wild house party in an upscale San Diego neighborhood that attracted hundreds of attendees.
Officials from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a home on El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe around 8 p.m., responding to complaints about a noisy gathering that had escalated significantly beyond what the typically quiet area would tolerate.
There were reportedly hundreds of individuals present, many of whom were referred to as “children” by local lawmakers. It’s a bit unclear if anyone there was actually older than 18.
Additionally, clips shared online showed large crowds moving through the streets, with police vehicles lining the area. Initial rumors suggested that the party was hosted in a vacant $16 million luxury mansion nearby. However, the real estate agent clarified that the gathering occurred next door, at a home rented by someone living there.
Witnesses reported fireworks being set off during the festivities, prompting authorities to escalate their response. As the situation intensified, assistance was called from the California Highway Patrol and the San Diego Police Department.
Eventually, it took about two hours for authorities to clear the crowd and restore order once they arrived. Officials indicated they are enhancing efforts to track down social media accounts linked to these underground events. A digital flyer promoting the party had reportedly circulated online beforehand.
The flyer claimed “heavy security” was in place and that “hundreds of people” were expected to attend. “We have detectives keeping an eye on social media,” said Lt. Cesar Jimenez of the San Diego Police Department. “If there’s a specific page promoting these parties, we’ll target it. The challenge is they often change their handles.”
