Taylor Frankie Paul Addresses Domestic Violence Allegations

Taylor Frankie Paul recently confronted allegations of domestic violence, expressing that the fallout felt “like the end of the world.” This comes as she faces intense public scrutiny just before the premiere of *The Bachelorette*.

The Draper Police Department has indicated that there are “allegations on both sides” concerning domestic violence, specifically involving Paul and her former girlfriend Dakota Mortensen. Authorities noted that they were in communication with those involved on February 24th and 25th.

The incident reportedly took place just weeks before Paul’s season of *The Bachelorette* is set to debut on March 22nd.

Paul shared her thoughts during an appearance on *Good Morning America*, saying, “Honestly, it’s daunting to see the headlines, especially at this time of year when ‘The Bachelorette’ is out. It’s going to be a really exciting time… I’ve always been a person who speaks my truth, and I’ll do that when the time is right. But right now, I’m just trying to focus on the present moment.”

“My children come first,” she emphasized. “It’s been a back-and-forth process of trying to be here in the moment while worrying about the house and the headlines because my kids are my number one priority. It’s been stressful, to be honest.”

While Paul confirmed that filming for the fifth season of *The Secret of the Mormon Mrs.* was halted, she stated that she wasn’t aware of the reason for the pause. She is uncertain about her future with the show amidst ongoing allegations of domestic violence.

“It’s hard to get through this. I’m not going to lie; this moment is very heavy,” she admitted. “When your life is covered in these headlines, it feels like the end of the world. I’m not going to lie.”

In reflective moments, she mentioned, “I’ve been here before, overcome it, shared my story and my light, and I hope I can do it again.”

A spokesperson for Mortensen stated that he did not initiate the public revelation of the domestic violence inquiry. “His first priority here is to protect himself and their 2-year-old son,” the representative explained. “All this time, he knew it could come out, but he never intended to disclose it because he always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor. It’s been tough to maintain that while wanting to be a good parent.”

The spokesperson continued, “He just wanted this to go away quietly, as he usually does. He has never given a sit-down interview about his side, letting everything unfold as it may, but he’s starting to realize this is more serious than he thought.”

In 2023, Paul faced serious charges including aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child, among others. A complaint alleges that during an argument with Mortensen, Paul threw various objects, which reportedly injured a child sitting nearby.

Paul pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. However, four other charges were dismissed.

Reflecting on her arrest, Paul previously told Fox News Digital, “It was disappointing. When you hit rock bottom, there’s only one way to go, and that’s what kept me climbing back up. So, honestly, as bad as that night was, I think it was also a blessing in disguise, maybe saving my life from drowning in misery.”

Paul shares a son with Mortensen. The couple officially ended their relationship in December 2024 but continued to have sporadic romantic contact afterward. Additionally, Paul has two children from her marriage to Tate Paul.
