John Stamos gets his first tattoo at 62, influenced by a Beach Boys symbol

Recently, John Stamos received a lot of positive reactions after revealing his first tattoo at 62. He shared in a post, “Who do you think got the first tattoo?” accompanied by a video montage that illustrated the inking process. The tattoo features a Native American horse rider looking up at the sky.

Stamos explained the meaning behind his tattoo, mentioning that the image, titled “An Appeal to the Great Spirit,” was originally used by The Beach Boys as a representation of artistic freedom. He expressed feeling a similar pull in his own life as he embarks on a new phase in his career, stating that this reminded him to be courageous and to trust his artistic instincts.

Fans were enthusiastic, with one commenting, “Absolutely love this! Can’t wait to see them play with the Beach Boys on Sunday!!!” Another noted, “You’ve grown up! You look great,” while someone else humorously suggested he might have opted for an Elvis tattoo, referencing his character Uncle Jesse’s admiration for the iconic musician.

Bob Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, congratulated Stamos with a few encouragement emojis, and Jodie Sweetin’s podcast co-host humorously invited him to join their show.

Back in 2019, Stamos created a bit of confusion among fans when he shared a picture of a fake tattoo of Nick Jonas’ face on his arm as part of an inside joke related to their friendship.

On a personal note, Stamos shared that he’s been striving for more realistic roles in his acting career. He previously described his part in an upcoming film as “probably one of the darkest, weirdest roles” he’s tackled. He’s eager to prove his versatility beyond his early fame, and although he feels a connection to his past work, he’s ready to explore new avenues.

Stamos is set to appear in season two of the Netflix series “The Hunting Wives,” describing this new project as a bit “darker” than what fans might expect from him. He’s currently on a quest for roles that challenge him and offer a fresh perspective.
