Chuck Norris hadn’t appeared in a feature film since 2012’s The Expendables 2, yet he remains an unforgettable figure in the realm of action films. He became well-known in the 1980s alongside icons such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. His friendship with Bruce Lee began when he was cast in Lee’s 1972 film The Way of the Dragon, a pivotal moment that helped launch Norris’s acting career.
Since 1978, Norris has made a name for himself not just as a martial arts champion but as a star in various films, including classics like Missing in Action and Delta Force. Starting in 1993, he took his talents to television, starring in Walker, Texas Ranger, which aired for 200 episodes over eight seasons.
Norris was known for his patriotic views and didn’t shy away from expressing his conservative beliefs through his writings. He often voiced his opinions on political matters, including a noted column in July 2016, encouraging Republican support for Donald Trump.
Right up to the end, Norris remained involved in martial arts; he even shared a video on his 86th birthday, showing off his sparring skills. “I’m not getting old. I’m leveling up,” he had joked in the post, expressing gratitude for another year of good health and for his supportive fans around the world.
