Alejandro Tosti Stirs Things Up at Valspar Championship
This week at the Valspar Championship, Argentine golfer Alejandro Tosti is certainly making headlines, albeit in a quirky way.
During the first round in Palm Harbor, Florida, Tosti caught attention with his unique caddy bib that boldly proclaimed “NEEDS A WIFE.” It seemed like a bold statement to shake things up.
“Many people wondered if it was my caddy who needs a wife, but actually, it’s me,” the 29-year-old clarified in a video shared by the PGA Tour on Thursday.
When probed about the qualities he could bring to a potential partner, Tosti playfully responded, “A lot of good things.” He continued, “I enjoy cooking, flying planes, playing golf, and having fun.”
Tosti, who turned professional in 2018, completed his first round with a score of 71, aiming for his inaugural PGA Tour win.
While Tosti gears up for the second round on Friday, he seems to have gained a supportive audience, including some fast-food chains, rallying behind his lighthearted quest for love.
On his Instagram, he shared a fortune cookie from Panda Express that offered a humorous glimpse into his romantic future.
The fortune read, “You will soon meet your future wife,” to which he humorously replied, “#manifesting.”
Interestingly, Tosti isn’t the only golfer to showcase creativity with caddy bibs at the Valspar Championship. Last year, Scottish golfer Robert McIntyre creatively reminded rivals of the 2023 Ryder Cup score by putting “EUR16.5-11.5USA” on his bib.
As of Friday, American golfer David Lipsky stands at 18th in the Valspar Championship with a score of 8 under.
